Designed for all late-model 1630 Sea-Doo engines, this Emergency Tow Tap Kit provides a simple and effective way to protect your engine if your ski will not start and must be towed back to shore.
With this kit permanently installed, you can shut off the main in-line water supply to the engine during a non-start situation. This prevents water from being forced back into the engine while towing without the motor running. Without a tow tap fitted, there is a serious risk of the engine back-filling unless the ski is towed at extremely low speed.
The kit includes a high-quality stainless steel shut-off valve and specially shaped water hoses designed to intercept the factory cooling lines. This exclusive design allows completely normal operation when the system is not in use and, unlike some other systems on the market, it does not interfere with normal water drainage from the manifold.
Installation instructions are included.*
(!) Not suitable for models fitted with a custom 30A battery upgrade.
(!) Please be aware that the final position of the valve requires some effort to reach and operate in an emergency. This position is determined by engine design and cannot be altered. (See example photos.)
(!) *Installation requires basic to medium mechanical skills and appropriate tools. Factory hoses must be cut and hose clamps fitted accurately, and part of the installation is done by “feel” rather than sight due to limited access. For this reason, installation by an experienced Sea-Doo agent is recommended.
